Club News:

 

  • If you have a 30 or higher composite score on a single ACT exam, you can be a part of the 30+ club here at WMHS. Check out Mrs. Gulde’s teacher page on gorebs.org for more info.

 

  • Current Art students and former Art students with a teacher reference who are interested in joining Art Club can pick up an application outside of Mrs. Lengefeld's room, 1109. Applications are due back to Mrs. Lengefeld by Friday, September 15th.. Afterthis date, any remaining club spots will be opened to the rest of the student body, so get your applications in ASAP!

 

  • Did you know we have an Amateur Radio Club? If you are interested in joining, you need to  complete an application packet by the end of this month. For more info, see Mrs. Cavin in the library. 

 

  • For those of you in FCS, your meeting for this week has been cancelled because so many of you will be performing in the Homecoming Assembly for the middle schools that morning.

 

  • Student council members you must have your dues paid by September 22nd. If you are a freshman running for Student Council class officer, you need to see Mrs. Jones in room 4208 by the end of the school day on Thursday. 

 

  • If you are interested in testing….
    -The AAPPL foreign language test’s registration deadline is September 18. See Mrs. Ballance in 2207 for more info.

-The ASVAB test’s registration deadline is this Friday. You can see Mrs. Williams or any U.S. History teacher for more information.

 

  • The PSAT will be given at West Monroe High School on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 7:45 am in Edgewood.  

All students in 11th grade honors/AP classes are strongly encouraged to take this test.  

Registration ends Friday, October 6th.  Students must register with their English teacher to take the test, but must pay their $30 registration on-line at gorebs.org 

If you have any questions, please see your English III teacher. 

 

  • Thank you to those who supported the library's fundraiser Biscuits for Books! If you missed out or want to get in on this Chickfila chicken biscuit opportunity, you can now go to online school payments on gorebs.org and order for the next biscuit drop on September 21st.

  • Attention rebelnation student section Memberships will NOT be sold at the football game. You must be a member prior to friday to join us in the student section at the homecoming game. There are 3 ways to join us. Pay $3 cash to Mrs Pickering in room 3103 Pay $3 (or $6 if you want a customized cowbell) online. Purchase an athletic pass then come to room 3103 for yo


 

News from Guidance

 

  • Grambling State University will be hosting "Tiger Day in the Hole" for High School Students who are interested in touring Grambling and enjoying the Game on Saturday, September 16th. If you would like info on how to register and attend this event with your family, please visit the Guidance Office for more info. 

Also, if you need transportation to this Tiger Day Event, the local, Ouachita Chapter of GUNAA, will be providing transportation by bus and covering the registration costs for the first 50 students, and their parents/guardians, that complete a Permission Slip. If you would like to register to participate and ride with this organization, please stop by guidance to pick up your Registration Form and Permission Slip. The deadline to return these forms to your Counselor is Wednesday, September 13th.

 

  • Are you old enough to vote in the upcoming elections? If so, you have a wonderful opportunity to share in your civic duty. Your vote matters! If you would like to become a Registered Voter, we have voter registration forms available for students in WMHS Guidance Office. Please come by and pick up one today!

 

  • 2) ULM is also hosting their "Browse on the Bayou" Event on Saturday, September 30th. This is another free opportunity to tour ULM and learn about the academic and student life on campus, and enjoy the game! If you are interested in attending this event, please register online at ulm.edu

 

  • More Important Reminders:

  • 1) If you would like to take the October 28th ACT, it's a great time to register. The Deadline to Register for the October ACT is Friday, September 22nd. Don't Delay!

 

  • 2) Seniors, did you go to the ULM's College and Career Fair, and still have some questions that you want to discuss as you prepare for college? Do you need help in applying to college? No problem. . . Just come by the Guidance Office or email your Graduation Coach, Mrs. Kavanaugh, to make an appointment. She is here to help you with your college questions and to help you apply to college
